A musical evening at Jadavpur University

It was a treat for classical aficionados of the city as young musicians showcased their talent and expertise at a concert named Baithak, organized recently at Jadavpur University.
Amidst the performers were Souraja Tagore, a Bharatnatyam dancer. Srinjoy Mukherjee put up a spectacular performance on sarod backed by Sohon Ghosh on tabla. Sayandeep Roy showcased his versatility on the mandolin whereas Debjit Patundi stood apart with his solo performance on the tabla.“I am feel happy to see the youth taking up classical music today in an industry where people are opting for other musical forms. I hope that they keep up the good work, no matter what the size of the audience is,” smiled singer Haimanti Shukla.
